What is ExpertPack CLI?

ExpertPack CLI provides a specialized set of local Python tools designed for developers working on structured AI content. These tools allow you to maintain high standards of quality and compliance within the Openclaw Skills ecosystem by automating the testing and formatting of packs. Operating entirely on local files with no external dependencies beyond the Python standard library, it ensures a fast, private, and secure development environment for managing complex metadata and relationships.

ExpertPack CLI Use Cases

  • Ensuring 19-check compliance for AI packs before repository commits.
  • Automated fixing of common formatting issues in wikilinks and frontmatter.
  • Generating relationship graphs to visualize and export pack structures.
  • Preparing production-ready versions of files by stripping development-heavy frontmatter.
  • Cleaning up broken internal references in composite pack structures.

How ExpertPack CLI Works

  1. The developer runs ep-doctor in dry-run mode to identify fixable issues without modifying source files.
  2. Apply automated fixes to prefixes and links using the ep-doctor --apply command.
  3. Execute ep-validate to perform a comprehensive compliance check; the pack must pass with zero errors.
  4. Use ep-graph-export to process wikilinks and frontmatter into a structured _graph.yaml file.
  5. Run ep-strip-frontmatter to generate a clean deployment copy while leaving the original source files intact.

ExpertPack CLI Setup

To get started with these tools for your Openclaw Skills development, clone the repository and navigate to the validator directory:

git clone https://github.com/brianhearn/ExpertPack
cd ExpertPack/tools/validator/
# Ensure Python is installed, then run tools directly
python3 ep-validate.py --path /path/to/your/pack
