What is Sardis Payment?

Sardis Payment is a core execution skill that allows AI agents to handle financial transactions safely. While agents can reason effectively, they require a secure layer to interact with money; Sardis provides this via non-custodial MPC wallets and natural language spending policies. By integrating this into your Openclaw Skills library, you can empower agents to earn trust through compliant, policy-enforced financial activity.

The skill acts as a bridge between the agent's logic and the blockchain, supporting major stablecoins like USDC and USDT across high-performance networks including Base, Polygon, and Ethereum. It ensures that every transaction is validated against a set of rules before execution, providing a fail-closed security model that protects assets from unauthorized or accidental spending.

Sardis Payment Use Cases

  • Automating API credit refills and SaaS subscription payments for autonomous developer agents.
  • Implementing cross-chain stablecoin transfers based on real-time agent research and triggers.
  • Issuing and managing virtual cards for agents to perform real-world procurement tasks.
  • Enforcing granular spending limits and vendor-specific restrictions within Openclaw Skills workflows.
  • Maintaining a transparent, compliance-ready audit trail of all agent-initiated financial activity.

How Sardis Payment Works

  1. The AI agent identifies a payment requirement and prepares the transaction details including recipient, token, and chain.
  2. The system initiates a dry-run policy check via the Sardis API to ensure the requested amount and vendor are permitted.
  3. Upon policy approval, the agent calls the payment execution endpoint using the secure SARDIS_API_KEY.
  4. Sardis signs the transaction using Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and broadcasts it to the selected blockchain network.
  5. The agent receives a transaction hash and updates its internal state, while the transaction is logged for audit within the Openclaw Skills environment.

Sardis Payment Setup

To get started with Sardis Payment, install the necessary SDK and export your credentials to your environment:

npm install @sardis/sdk
export SARDIS_API_KEY=sk_your_key_here
export SARDIS_WALLET_ID=wallet_abc123

Ensure that curl is installed and your local configuration file is initialized at ~/.sardis/config.json for persistent settings.

Sardis Payment Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill utilizes a structured JSON schema for transaction requests and policy enforcement. Below is the primary data organization:

Attribute Type Description
wallet_id String The unique identifier for the agent's MPC wallet
to String The destination blockchain address
amount String The decimal amount to transfer (e.g., "25.00")
token Enum Supported assets: USDC, USDT, EURC, PYUSD
chain Enum Target networks: base, polygon, ethereum, arbitrum, optimism
purpose String A descriptive string for policy auditing and natural language tracking

Sardis Payment Advanced Features

  • Natural Language Policies: Define complex spending rules in plain English that are automatically enforced at the protocol level.
  • Multi-Chain Support: Seamlessly switch between Layer 2s and Ethereum Mainnet within the same Openclaw Skills integration.
  • Dry-Run Validation: Test if a transaction would be blocked by current policies without spending gas or moving funds.
  • Card Issuance: Dynamically generate virtual cards for agents to use at traditional online merchants.
  • Real-Time Analytics: Access daily spending summaries and transaction history to monitor agent behavior and budget adherence.
