What is Weekend Pick One?

Weekend Pick One is an Openclaw Skills decision helper for the classic last-minute question: where should we go this weekend? Instead of returning a long list of options, it narrows city, suburban, and nearby candidates into one clear plan based on exact date, departure point, time, budget, energy, transport, weather, crowding, opening hours, and the return trip.

It is built for fast, high-confidence decisions, not full itineraries. When live search is available, it verifies public evidence before recommending a specific destination or route; when evidence is incomplete, it switches to a direction-only answer and says so explicitly. That makes Openclaw Skills useful when the user wants one good choice now, not a research session.

Weekend Pick One Use Cases

  • You need one weekend destination, not a long shortlist.
  • You only have a half day or one day and want a realistic escape.
  • You want a nearby route that fits budget, transit, energy, and weather.
  • You are comparing a few options and need one final recommendation.
  • You want to know whether a spot is worth a dedicated trip today.
  • You need a fallback if crowds, rain, or closures make the first plan fail.

How Weekend Pick One Works

  1. Classify the request as a short-horizon, undecided outing; full multi-day itineraries, hotel booking, or flight planning should be routed to a travel-planning skill instead.
  2. Normalize relative time such as today, tonight, or this weekend into an exact local date like YYYY-MM-DD.
  3. Collect the key constraints: departure city or area, maximum travel distance, available time, budget, group size, and physical endurance.
  4. Search city, suburban, and nearby candidates, then verify weather, official venue pages, transit or return options, and crowd or closure signals.
  5. Rank candidates with Escape Fit Score, keep one mainline plus two backups, and prune unsafe or high-friction choices.
  6. Output a structured decision with the main plan, why it won, estimates, risks, a do-not-go list, pre-departure checks, and evidence links.
  7. If real-time search is unavailable or pages are blocked, emit a direction-only version instead of pretending a specific recommendation is verified.

Weekend Pick One Setup

  1. Copy the skill into your Openclaw Skills directory and keep the references/ and schemas/ folders intact.
mkdir -p ~/.openclaw/skills
cp -R weekend-pick-one ~/.openclaw/skills/
  1. Make sure your agent runtime has a live search source and a browser-capable verification adapter, because this skill depends on public-page evidence.
ls ~/.openclaw/skills/weekend-pick-one/references
  1. If live evidence is unavailable, configure the agent to fall back to the direction-only mode rather than fabricating a concrete destination. No additional API keys are defined in SKILL.md; the behavior is driven by the reference docs and output schema.

Weekend Pick One Data Schema & Taxonomy

Output contract

Generated artifact: a single structured decision response; the skill does not store personal data, download media, or persist browsing artifacts.

The skill follows schemas/escape-plan.schema.json and preserves a fixed response shape.

Field Purpose
判了 Decision header with the chosen date and destination label
主线 The single main recommendation
为什么 2-3 evidence-backed reasons for the choice
预计 Time, budget, and physical effort estimate
风险 1-2 issues to confirm before leaving
备胎 A Lower-friction alternative if the main plan fails
备胎 B More conservative fallback option
别去 A short blacklist of unsuitable options for today
出门前检查 Weather, closures, reservations, transit, and return-trip checks
核验依据 Source URLs, timestamps, and what each source supports
公开灵感 Notes about pages viewed, skipped, or limited by access restrictions

Internal taxonomy

  • references/decision-evidence.md: evidence quality, timestamping, and date normalization rules.
  • references/cold-start.md: what to ask when departure city or region is missing.
  • references/low-decision-mode.md: rules for requests like '随便', '都行', or 'you decide'.
  • references/regional-trip-policy.md: extra gates for nearby trips, round trips, self-drive, and high-speed rail.
  • references/search-query-playbook.md: search patterns for candidate discovery.
  • references/safety.md: boundaries for public pages, privacy, and no-scraping behavior.
  • references/voice-and-copy.md: copy rules that preserve the fixed fields.
  • references/live-browser-test-protocol.md: browser verification workflow.

Internal metadata

  • candidate_pool_summary: stores the shortlisted options that did not win.
  • Escape Fit Score: ranking signal used to select the single mainline.
  • direction version: fallback output when evidence is incomplete or search is restricted.

Weekend Pick One Advanced Features

  • One-choice decisioning: exactly one main plan, never a crowded shortlist.
  • Evidence-gated recommendations with live browser checks and source timestamps.
  • ISO date normalization for today, tonight, and this weekend requests.
  • Direction-only fallback when real-time search is unavailable or blocked.
  • Regional-trip policy for day trips, self-drive, high-speed rail, and round trips.
  • Escape Fit Score ranking plus candidate_pool_summary for transparent pruning.
  • Two backups and a do-not-go list to protect against weather, crowds, and closures.
  • Structured output that downstream agents and UIs can render consistently in Openclaw Skills workflows.
