AirTouch is a macOS application that turns your built-in or external webcam into a hands-free gesture controller for your entire Mac. It allows users to control the system cursor, click, scroll, switch applications, close windows, and execute actions system-wide using physical hand gestures, eliminating the need for extra hardware or wearables. The software processes images entirely on-device via the Apple Neural Engine by converting camera frames into 21 geometric hand landmarks and discarding them within 5 milliseconds, ensuring total privacy. It also includes an advanced dictation feature called Telepath, which lets users dictate text at up to 220 words per minute by simply placing two fingers near their temple.
Download and install the beta app on a Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later with Apple Silicon. Open the app to grant camera access. Raise a hand and throw a peace sign toward the screen notch for three seconds to wake the tracker. Once locked on, raise an index finger to move the cursor, pinch your thumb and index finger to left-click, or position two fingers to your temple to start dictating.
