What is Arcjet?
Arcjet is a runtime security platform that developers integrate into applications to protect AI agents and web services at the point where actions occur. Its SDKs and framework integrations let applications inspect agent prompts, tool inputs and outputs, enforce policies before actions execute, redact sensitive information, manage usage budgets, and record audit evidence. Arcjet also provides web protections such as bot detection, WAF, rate limiting, email validation, and signup form protection. Policies can be managed in code or remotely, and decisions are enforced within the application rather than through a separate gateway.
How to use Arcjet?
Choose an Arcjet SDK or agent framework integration, install it in your application, and configure rules in code or remote policies. Call protect() for HTTP routes or guard() inside an agent tool handler, workflow step, or other action path. Supply relevant inputs such as the actor, action, and typed arguments, then use the returned decision to allow, block, redact, or hold the action for review. Teams can begin in dry-run mode and review recorded decisions before enabling enforcement.
