Where does my data and code reside when using Moldable?

Everything is local on your machine. Your apps, conversations, and data live in ~/.moldable/. Moldable does not store, see, or have access to your content. You own all of your generated code and data.

What is Moldable?

Moldable is a personal software factory powered by AI that enables users to build, evolve, and automate hyper-personalized, custom desktop applications using conversational prompts. It operates on a local-first architecture, ensuring all generated code, data (stored locally via SQLite/Local), and conversations remain strictly on the user's machine, emphasizing privacy and ownership. Users describe the app they need (e.g., a custom CRM or expense tracker), and Moldable generates it. Apps can be instantly modified by simply asking the Moldable Agent (e.g., "Add dark mode"). It is extensible via Skills (add-ons) that integrate capabilities like audio transcription, PDF extraction, and connections to services like Slack and Notion. Moldable also provides free starter apps such as a meeting recorder, notes app, and time tracker to get users started without subscriptions.

How to use Moldable?

To use Moldable, download the desktop app (currently macOS). You can either install one of the free starter apps or prompt the system by describing the desired application or feature using natural language (e.g., “Build a custom CRM to track leads”). The Moldable Agent generates the app, and you can subsequently refine or change the app’s functionality simply by asking conversational questions like “Add CSV export” or “Connect to Slack.”
