Vidu S1 API is a commercial-grade streaming video generation model engineered to build real-time interactive digital humans. Unlike traditional pipelines that rely on offline pre-rendering and fixed clips, Vidu S1 generates live video fluidly during an ongoing conversation. It features bidirectional perception, enabling the AI character to see user expressions, hear voices, perceive emotions, and respond in quasi real-time via structured HTTP, AliRTC, and WebSocket channels.
How to use ViduS1 API?
To integrate Vidu S1 API, follow a 6-step developer workflow: 1. Create a session via a POST request with the character's persona, avatar, and voice parameters to acquire a session ID and RTC credentials. 2. Join the AliRTC channel using the token to publish user media and subscribe to the bot's stream. 3. Open a persistent WebSocket connection for control signaling. 4. Wait for the readiness acknowledgement (handling NOT_READY with exponential backoff). 5. Maintain the session with 5-second heartbeats. 6. Send a hangup message to close channels and query final billing information.
