The platform is privacy first, with no personal health information shared outside the family. The caregiver retains full control at every stage, from voice setup to conversation guidelines to ongoing adjustments. Founded in Toronto, Ontario by Kirstin Thomas, a dementia family caregiver whose mother lives with frontotemporal dementia, KindredMind was built from lived caregiving experience. How to use KindredMind?

Start by recording a short 15 minute voice session. KindredMind clones the caregiver's voice and provisions a dedicated phone number. The loved one saves it under the caregiver's name so every call feels like calling them directly. The caregiver then builds a personalized knowledge base covering who their loved one is as a person, their family history, daily routine, recurring questions and desired answers, words and topics to avoid, and anything else that matters. The knowledge base can be updated at any time between calls. KindredMind answers every call in the caregiver's cloned voice, working entirely from the knowledge base. Full call transcripts are available after every call. Flagged moments of distress trigger an immediate alert, with the option to join the call live. The Living Voice clone continues to refine itself quietly in the background from short natural moments of speech, no extra recording required, becoming more accurate over time and reaching approximately 90% fidelity. The caregiver controls availability through two modes: Cover for me, where KindredMind answers first, and I am here, where calls ring through to the caregiver's real number first with KindredMind as fallback.
