Motherboard

The Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra motherboard is our top pick for its exceptional VRMs, PCIe 4.0 m.2 slots, and integrated WiFi 6 capabilities. It is ideal for handling the powerhouse Ryzen 9 5900x CPU.

CPU

The Ryzen 9 5900x, with its 12 cores, is the star of our build. This beast of a CPU provides incredible performance for video editing and other core-heavy applications. For gaming purposes, the Ryzen 5 5600x or Ryzen 7 5800x will suffice.

NVME SSDs

We recommend using the Adata SX8200 PRO 2TB SSDs. While PCIe 4.0 drives are supported by our motherboard, they are still quite expensive. The Adata SSDs perform excellently and offer a more affordable alternative to their Samsung counterparts.

RAM

For this build, we have chosen a 64GB kit from G.Skill. With a rating of 3600MHz, it pairs well with the Ryzen 9 5900x. While this may be considered overkill for gaming, it is essential for efficient video editing.

CPU Cooler

The Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 is our go-to CPU cooler. With its silent operation and impressive cooling performance, it ensures that your PC remains quiet even when under heavy load. Installation may require some effort, but the provided manual makes the process straightforward.

PC Case

For optimal airflow and quiet operation, we have selected the be quiet! 500DX case. Designed with a focus on acoustics, this case includes a 140mm intake fan and two 140mm exhaust fans. Additionally, we recommend adding an extra intake fan for positive or neutral air pressure.

Power Supply

The Cooler Master V850 power supply may seem like overkill, but it ensures compatibility with future upgrades, such as the RTX 3080 or 3090. Its 850 watts of power provide ample support to our high-performance components.

GPU

The MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio is the perfect graphics card for our build. It offers exceptional gaming performance and comes with an anti-sag GPU bracket for added stability. We will share 1440p gaming benchmarks later in the article.

Installing CPU: Begin by aligning the triangle on the Ryzen 9 5900x CPU with the corresponding triangle on the socket. Gently place the CPU into the socket and lock it in place.

Installing NVME SSDs: Remove the m.2 shield and screw the m.2 standoff onto the motherboard. Insert the NVME drive at a 30-degree angle and secure it with a small m.2 screw. Repeat the process for the Second NVME drive.

Installing RAM: Pull back the tabs on the DIMM slots and Align the gap on the RAM sticks with the DIMM slots. Slide the RAM sticks into place.

Installing CPU Cooler: Mount the Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU cooler, ensuring compatibility with your RAM stick Height. The included manual provides clear instructions for installation.

Installing PC Case: Install the motherboard into the be quiet! 500DX case using the pre-installed standoffs. Connect the front panel connectors as per the motherboard's manual.

Installing Power Supply: Connect the Cooler Master V850 power supply, utilizing the zip ties and velcro straps included with the case for cable management.

Installing GPU: Install the MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio graphics card and secure it with the anti-sag GPU bracket. Ensure that the GPU bracket covers all PCI slot covers for optimal stability.

Cable Management: Utilize the included zip ties and velcro straps to neatly manage and organize the cables within the PC case.
