💻 Building the Ultimate High-End Video Editing PC

Are you a professional Video Editor looking for the most powerful and top-of-the-line PC build? Look no further! In this article, we will guide you through the process of building the ultimate high-end video editing PC. With components like the Ryzen 9 5950X and RTX 3090, this beast of a machine is capable of handling even the most demanding video editing tasks. So let's dive right in and witness the performance of this unparalleled PC build.

2. PC Build Components

Before we start assembling the PC, let's take a closer look at each component we will be using. Choosing the right components is crucial for a high-end video editing system. Here are the key components we will be discussing:

2.1 CPU

At the heart of our build lies the Ryzen 9 5950X CPU. With 16 cores and 32 Threads, this beast of a processor offers immense power and performance. The Ryzen 9 5950X is the pinnacle of consumer CPUs, providing unmatched processing capabilities.

2.2 GPU

Accompanying the powerful CPU is the mighty RTX 3090 GPU from Gigabyte. With its 24GB of GDDR6X memory, this graphics card is an excellent choice for high-resolution video editing. The RTX 3090 will undoubtedly boost your productivity and deliver exceptional performance.

2.3 Motherboard

We have opted for the ASRock X570 Taichi motherboard. This mid-range X570 board offers great features like free M.2 slots, Wi-Fi 6, good VRMs, and numerous USB ports. The ASRock X570 Taichi provides a solid foundation for our high-end build.

2.4 RAM

In terms of memory, we are going big with 128GB of RAM. Using G Skill's 64GB kits, we can take full advantage of the maximum amount of RAM supported by the AM4 platform. With this much RAM, multitasking and handling large video files will be a breeze.

2.5 Storage

When it comes to storage, we are sticking to M.2 SSDs for maximum speed and efficiency. We will be using three SSDs: one for the operating system, one for project files, and one as a cache drive. The combination of Samsung 970 EVO, Kingston, and Samsung 980 Pro SSDs ensures fast and reliable storage performance.

2.6 CPU Cooler

To keep this powerhouse CPU cool, we are using the Kraken X73 RGB AIO cooler from NZXT. With its 360mm radiator, this liquid cooler provides excellent cooling capacity, even during prolonged rendering Sessions. The Kraken X73 RGB is a reliable solution to keep our CPU temperatures in check.

2.7 Power Supply

To meet the power demands of our build, we have chosen the be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 PSU. With a 1200-watt capacity and Titanium certification, this fully modular power supply ensures stable and efficient power delivery. It also provides the possibility of adding a Second RTX 3090 in the future.

2.8 PC Case

For the PC case, we have selected the Fractal Meshify 2. Its ATX form factor, mesh front panel, and excellent build quality make it an ideal choice for our high-end build. The Fractal Meshify 2 offers great flexibility in terms of radiator and storage support.

2.9 Cable Management

To ensure a clean and organized build, cable management is crucial. We will be using sleeved black cables from be quiet! However, we have decided to enhance the aesthetics by adding CableMod extensions. These extensions feature a thicker design and a blue color accent, adding a touch of style to our build.

Now that we have a clear understanding of the components we will be using, let's move on to building this high-end video editing PC.

3. Building the High-End Video Editing PC

3.1 Installing the CPU

The first step in building our ultimate high-end video editing PC is installing the CPU. Carefully lift the CPU retention lever on the motherboard socket and gently place the Ryzen 9 5950X CPU into the socket, ensuring proper alignment with the notches. Once aligned, lower the retention lever to secure the CPU in place.

Pros:

  • The Ryzen 9 5950X offers exceptional performance with its 16 cores and 32 threads.
  • The ASRock X570 Taichi motherboard provides a solid foundation for our build with its reliable features.
  • The high amount of RAM (128GB) allows for smooth multitasking and handling of large video files.

Cons:

  • The Kraken X73 RGB AIO cooler may require some effort to install due to its size.
  • The Fractal Meshify 2 case only supports top-mounted radiators with low-profile RAM.
